About the Computer Camp for Kids

Who we are

We are a March Break and Summer day-camp program for students aged 9 -14 (grades 4-8), specializing in technology and computers. The camp is offered at Mississauga Secondary School, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The camp day operates from 9am to 4pm. (Extended care is available form 4 to 5pm for an additional cost).

Our mission is to provide a comfortable, safe and fun learning environment for students wishing to explore computers and technology. We pride ourselves in providing leading-edge technical education, while encouraging creative and independent thought.

What we do:

Student at WorkIn 2009, the Computer Camp 4 Kids hosted over 250 campers. The Computer Camp 4 Kids offers week-long programs in technology, touching on such subjects as Programming, Digital Art, Web Design and more. Our curriculum is project-based, giving students hands-on time to put their skills to a creative use.

Our instructors lead daily lessons and also deliver one-on-one help, ensuring each student is both caught up and being challenged appropriately. Projects are assigned to allow students to work through unique problems, which teach the intricacies of each piece of software. We encourage students to be as creative as possible with their work, and it is typical to have students willingly go beyond daily expectations.

Kids RunningOutside the classroom, we round off the Camp experience by holding organized activities and games. We believe that a healthy learning environment should encourage both mental preparation and physical fitness, and this belief is reflected in our Camps. Activity periods are regularly scheduled where students are free to stretch their legs and get to know their other campers.

Our Strengths:

  • Balance: Our camps balance the will to learn with the need for a well-rounded Camp experience. Our students are able to spend their energy both inside the classroom and out, and each period complements the other.

  • Qualified Staff: Staff at the Computer Camp for Kids are trained in technical aspects as well as in teaching methods and strategies. Training also isn't a once-a season event - we hold summer long seminars with all of our staff. Aside from lessons, our instructors are happy to assist students with projects, advanced topics, or even to chat about technology trends.

  • Advanced Facilities: The Computer Camp for Kids operates out of the Mississauga Secondary School a state-of-the-art Peel District high school in Mississauga. Opened in 2006, Mississauga Secondary hosts some of the most advanced computer labs in Peel Region. Each student is given their own workstation for the week, with access to all software and the internet.

  • High Standards: Excellence is expected from our staff in all aspects whether it is in their teaching, classroom management or their rapport with students. We hand-pick instructors for both their technical ability and their skills as a teacher.
